Hello and welcome

If you're reading this, then you're probably at a point where you are considering therapy. Perhaps you've been in therapy before, or maybe you're now considering it for the first time. Sometimes the prospect of engaging in therapy can be scary or create anxiety, and that's understandable: meeting someone new to talk about private and personal thoughts, feelings or experiences might very well have that effect.
With over 20 years of experience in the field, my first priorities with a client are to create a calm and welcoming environment that is free of judgement where trust can be built, and identifying goals for therapy so we know where we're going and what our targets are. It is my belief that everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives. It can be helpful whether you're working through a specific, short-term problem or changing long-standing patterns of behavior, adjusting to an unexpected life change, gaining clarity about decisions or life goals, increasing self-confidence or self-realization, improving communication, or becoming more effective at regulating difficult emotions. My therapeutic style and approach is very much influenced by my past experience working in various environments. This has equipped me to become skilled in providing therapies focused on DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and mindfulness practices, CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), short-term solution-focused therapy, and psychodynamic psychotherapy. This eclectic approach allows me to shape the work we're doing to each individual client, helping to yield real results and positive change in their lives. |
